Emily Dukeshire
Councillor

My name is Emily Dukeshire and I am excited to be serving on the AUSU council for the 2008-2010 term!!

My husband and I just recently moved back to Calgary after living in Edmonton for eight months and living in Fort McMurray for a year and a half before that. We are glad to be back in the same city as our families. I recently started a new job as a Recreation Therapist at a Long Term Care center. There are over 250 residents and my main job is assessing all the residents. It's a big job but I am really loving it.

I was born and raised in Calgary. I am the oldest of seven children and enjoy spending time with my family. I am proud to say that I was home schooled for the majority of my school days.

After graduating from High School I moved to Lethbridge and completed a diploma in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology.

I met my husband on a blind date and we got married in 2006. When we decided to move to Fort McMurray I started looking seriously at AU. I am currently working on my degree in Human Services.

Someday I would like to be a counsellor or other helping professional. My dream job would be working with senior women in group therapy.

I enjoy being outside, knitting, reading and spending time with my husband.

I look forward to my term with AUSU.
