The AUSU Frappr Map

NEW USERS: Please read this before adding yourself to our Frappr map.

Adding Yourself to the AUSU Frappr Map

WHAT INFORMATION TO SUPPLY: The email address you provide to Frappr will not be visible to the public, but your name and address will be. Just enter your city and province (or state) to have a dot placed in the center of your home city. If you enter a full street address, the dot will appear in that location when users zoom in. We don't reccomend revealing your full address, but if you want to show your general area, try adding the address of a store near you (ie, some Councillors have chosen to use a nearby 7-11 store). If you upload more than one photo, users will be able to view them all when they click on your name. AUSU assumes no responsibility for information users choose to enter in their map entry.

HOW TO USE THE MAP: When you visit the map, it will "play" through by bouncing from pin to pin. You can use the following controls:

  • The red stop button (upper left) stops the map from cycling through the pins.
  • The green play button (upper left - visible when map is stopped) begins cycling through the pins.
  • The left up and down arrows cycle through user pictures.
  • The left forward and back arrows manually cycle from member to member.
  • Clicking on a member name in a popup shows you more information about that member.
  • Clicking on a member photo enlarges the photo.
  • Clicking "join" allows you to add your pin to the map (remember, your address shows, but your email does not).
  • The plus and minus buttons (lower right) allow you to zoom in and out. You can zoom right in to see city streets.
  • Click on the map and drag your mouse to move it, or click on the map to move the center point.
  • Click on a dot to see who it belongs to.

AUSU will remove any pins that include offensive pictures or that belong to advertizers, at AUSU's sole discretion.
