Lonita Fraser Councillor
Hello, my name is Lonita Fraser, and I was first elected to Council in March of 2004. I am currently serving
my third term. The past several years have been enjoyable ones for me, and I hope that my time served and service to
come, will meet with the satisfaction of those with whom I work and serve.
During my time with Council I have served as the Vice President External for Council; on the Groups & Clubs
Committee; the Bryon Paege Award committee; the AU Awards Committee; the Institutional Advancement Committe; and with
AU's Governing Council. I have been pleased to see so many good changes over the years, that have led to a wonderfully
functional and useful Council body with a true sense of dedication to their work. I have also been pleased to see our
relationship with the university itself improve, and our partnerships with other organisations improve.
I am currently taking the Bachelor of General Studies degree, with a concentration in Arts & Science. I
truly enjoy this degree, as it allows me to study a wide variety of subjects, which suits my all-over-the-place
interests. One day, hopefully, I'd like to work in the fields of publishing, journalism or a non-profit organisation,
and to devote more time to developing my artistic talents. I write a little, including doing various writing tasks
for The Voice on everything from study tips, to events listings, and the occasional full-length article.
