Discussion Forum Guidelines
The AUSU Discussion Forums have been designed as a place for Athabasca University
students to talk about issues of concern to them in an open, honest, and frank manner,
but always keeping in mind that respect for others is necessary for informed debate. All Forum
participants are expected to work together to create a supportive environment that encourages
free and respectful debate.
To ensure that all students have an equal right to express their opinions in a
safe and pleasant atmosphere, the following Community Guidelines have been established:
Any postings that include attacks of a personal nature, statements
that discriminate on the basis of race, sex, or sexual orientation,
or are libelous or defamatory in any way will be deleted from
the bulletin board and the user could be banned.
Only valid AUSU members may use this forum. No advertising or
spamming is permitted on this forum. Accounts that do not belong to valid AU students will be deleted.
Only one account per student ID number is permitted.
Please post responsibly. Any linking to large images or other inappropriate material will
result in deletion. If you have any questions, please contact
webmaster@ausu.org.

AUSU Chatroom
The AUSU chatroom is an extension of the AUSU forum system, and the same usage policies apply.
AUSU councillors and staff may be available in the chatroom at scheduled times to speak with students --
watch the AUSU front page for listings of scheduled times. However, the chatroom is always open, so drop in
from time to time to see if any other students are around and ready to chat! Once again, if you have any
questions or problems with the AUSU chatroom or forums system, contact
webmaster@ausu.org.
The AUSU chatroom can be accessed here:
