Updates to AUSU Elections Policies
During the December 10, 2015 public council meeting, AUSU passed motions in favour of revisions to the AUSU Election Policies.
According to the AUSU Bylaws, “changes to Council’s policies on elections shall not be made without proper notification of at least 21 days being provided to AUSU members.” In accordance with our bylaws, our members can now view the revised policies below:
- Policy 3.01 Election Conduct
- Policy 3.02 Election of Executive Officers
- Policy 3.03 By-Elections
- Policy 3.05 Council Changeover
Council agreed on numerous updates and clarifications to the the policies in order to facilitate transparency and provide clear guidelines for elections and by-elections. The revised policies will not be formally adopted before the January council meeting, which is set for January 14, 2016 at 4:30pm MST.
