We are looking for the next student-at-large to join the
Member Engagement and Communications (MEC) Committee.

Engage in topics such as ProctorU, AUSU services, AUSU communications channels, contests, and other new initiatives important to AU students!

The MEC Committee formed by AUSU Council nurtures a strong relationship with its membership ensuring all communications represent AUSU’s goals and mission. It promotes content that builds a sense of community, stronger connections with fellow students, a better understanding of AUSU, and an exceptional university experience.

Duties include collaborating on the AUSU communication plan, discussing and implementing member engagement strategies, assessing communication and service usage data, brainstorming, and so much more! Read the full MEC Committee terms of reference in AUSU Policy 8.04.

Time Commitment:
Committee members meet every 2-3 months via Zoom teleconference. Meetings are traditionally 1.5 hours in length. Additional “special” meetings may also be required as the need arises.

The term for student-at-large positions on standing committees is approximately one year.

Students-at-large on the MEC Committee receive a $50 honorarium for each meeting attended.
