Apply to sit on the AUSU Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee
Application Deadline: June 16nd, 2021
Are you passionate about improving the experience of underserved and underrepresented students? Looking to gain committee or governance experience? Then check out this amazing leadership opportunity with AUSU!
We are looking for up to three student-at-large members to
join the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee.
The EDI Committee is formed by AUSU Council and promotes the awareness and visibility of EDI as a core value at AUSU. The committee identifies the specific EDI needs of AU undergraduate students and supports the executive committee in their advocacy efforts to have those needs met.
Duties include collaborating on the executive committee’s annual EDI Report Recommendations, reviewing AUSU documents to promote inclusive language, applying an EDI lens to all current and future policies and procedures, and so much more!
Read the full EDI Committee terms of reference in AUSU Policy 8.12.
Committee members meet every 3 months via Zoom teleconference. Meetings are traditionally 1-hour long. Additional special meetings may be required if the need arises.
The term for student-at-large positions on standing committees is about one year.
Student-at-large members on the EDI Committee receive a $50 honorarium for each meeting attended.
To join AUSU’s EDI Committee, email your resume and a brief summary of why you are interested to Governance and Advocacy Coordinator Duncan Wojtaszek at [email protected]. You must be a current AUSU member to apply.
The deadline to apply is June 16th, 2021
