We are looking for up to two (2) student members at large to join the EDI and MEC Committees, each with one (1) seat open to interested AU undergraduates.
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee promotes the awareness and visibility of equity, diversity, and inclusion as core values at AUSU. The committee identifies the EDI needs of AU undergraduate students and supports the Executive Committee in its advocacy efforts to have those needs met.
Duties include collaborating on the executive committee’s annual EDI Report Recommendations, reviewing AUSU documents to promote inclusive language, applying an EDI lens to all current and future policies and procedures, and more.

The Member Engagement and Communications Committee provides suggestions and feedback on AUSU communications, social media content, student engagement, and events to help grow the AU student community and encourage a stronger connection with our members.
Duties include overseeing the development and implementation of an overall member communication plan, identifying communications needs and priorities through consultation with AUSU members and Council, assessing and evaluating the delivery of communications against the identified needs and priorities, and more.

Time Commitment:
Committee members meet every three (3) months via Zoom teleconference. Meetings are typically one (1) hour. Additional special meetings may also be required if the need arises.
The term for member-at-large positions on committees is approximately one (1) year.
Honorarium:
Student members at large on the EDI and MEC Committees receive a $60 honorarium for each meeting attended.

To join AUSU’s EDI or MEC Committee, email your resume and a brief summary of why you are interested in the role to Governance and Advocacy Coordinator Duncan Wojtaszek at governance@ausu.org. You must be a current AU undergraduate student and AUSU member to apply.
