Hello, I was born in China. I started my journey by moving to Winnipeg on my own when I was 18 years old. I have been working in the field of early childhood education for five years. I have worked as an inclusion worker with children who require additional support because of physical, cognitive, social, or emotional needs. I also have worked with children from low-income families. The more I work with disadvantaged children and children with special needs, the more I realize I love to help people who are less advantaged to solve and cope with problems. I believe that everyone deserves an environment that is safe to explore and in which they can create. This is the reason why I decided to pursue my bachelor’s degree in human services to become better equipped in helping people work through life’s challenges. My goal as a student councillor is to advocate and help students to have a good learning experience while studying at Athabasca University.
