Hello fellow Athabasca University Students,
I want to start off by thanking you for electing me as an AUSU Councillor for 2018-2020. Your support throughout the entire election process was so appreciated! As for a little bit about myself, my name is Brittany Daigle, I am 23 years old and I currently live in Toronto, Ontario with my boyfriend William, my beagle Ziggs, and my Maine Coon cat Gandalf the White. I enrolled at Athabasca University in late 2016 and I am currently a full-time student in my second year of the Bachelor of Science Major in Computing and Information Systems program.
In 2013 I graduated from Riverview High School which is located in my hometown Riverview, New Brunswick, and I chose Dalhousie University for Neuroscience. While attending Dalhousie University I met my boyfriend who was enrolled in the Bachelor of Computer Science program at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and his courses really interested me. He was finishing his degree when I met him, which pushed me to make the change in programs and provinces and to apply to Athabasca University.
Being a full-time student is extremely time consuming, though in my limited spare time I enjoy travelling, bullet journaling, connecting with other students, researching psychology related topics, writing for The Voice Magazine’s Course Exam column, and spending time with my family.
As an AUSU Council member I want to work towards increasing student interaction, member engagement, and ensuring that your needs, concerns, and wants are addressed and made a priority. I am honored to be working alongside such dedicated and motivated individuals and I am so excited for the future of AUSU.
