Hi fellow AUSU members!

I am so excited to have been elected to AUSU council. This will be an incredible experience and I am proud to become a voice for my fellow students.

Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario, I completed my journalism diploma at Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. I lived in northern British Columbia for a year before returning back to my hometown to work as a managing editor at the local community newspaper. Through my writing, I’ve received numerous Better Newspaper Awards from the Ontario Community Newspaper Association and even recognition from the Canadian Community Newspaper Association.

After learning about Athabasca University, I decided to take the plunge and begin the communi-cations studies program part-time. It was an effortless decision as I wanted to expand my knowledge and earning potential.

Currently, I live in the small hamlet of Quadeville, Ontario, with my husband and my two young boys, Corbyn and Atticus. I am the Marketing and Communications officer with 1st Madawaska Valley Scouts, which is part of Scouts Canada.

I am looking forward to making a difference with AUSU!
