My name is Lisa Oracheski and I am honoured to serve on AUSU council for 2018-2020!
I started with AU as a part-time non-program student in 2008, before applying for transfer credits towards my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I am currently taking classes full-time and only have four classes left. Once I finish my degree in 2018, I’ll be looking for work in my field and continuing on with my AU studies, taking classes towards the Certificate in Counselling Women. I am a master procrastinator, and am skilled at finishing all of the work for a course in the last two or three weeks before the course deadline!
Aside from schoolwork, I’ve been a volunteer board member for the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services (AASAS), since 2009 and have served as president since 2010. AASAS is an umbrella organization that provides leadership, coordination, collaboration, and a unified voice on issues of sexual abuse and sexual assault in Alberta. On a personal note, my husband and I live in downtown Edmonton with our dog Buffalo. She’s a beautiful and photogenic dog, but has an awful personality.
