You are here: / / Tuition Freeze
Does the AB governments tuition freeze extend to student association fees? Given the Post Secondary Learning Act (PSLA) establishes the University, and Students’ Associations — and the tuition freeze extends to all MNIF’s etc.
That is a fantastic question, thank you for posting it.
The Post-Secondary Learning Act of Alberta authorizes the student associations to create bylaws to govern their associations, as well as to collect fees from our membership.
SU fees are not frozen as part of the tuition freeze.
I hope that helps,

Alberta Government has extended the post-secondary tuition freeze and it will continue for the next academic year, while the government conducts a tuition review. This review will ensure a long-term solution to keep education accessible and affordable for Albertans.
