GREETINGS ATHABASCA UNIVERSITY (AU) COMMUNITY!
I am Aiza Nazarmatova, a dedicated and passionate AU undergraduate student eager to make a meaningful impact on the future of our post-secondary education. As a firm believer in the power of student voices, I am excited to represent you on the Athabasca University Students’ Union (AUSU) Council.
Let me introduce a little bit about myself. I have been with AU since 2017 when I was accepted into the post-LPN BN program. I am finishing my final theory courses and planning to complete my clinical/practicum by December 2025. Throughout my study with AU, I have been working full-time as a licensed practical nurse in various settings and, in recent years, I have been working as a nurse case manager at an outpatient clinic with Alberta Health Services. Outside of work, I am busy with my two wonderful children.
My journey at AU has been fueled by a deep commitment to fostering a positive and enriching academic environment. I am inspired by the diversity of our study body and the unique challenges and opportunities that AU presents. I am here to channel that passion into action on AUSU Council.
Why the AUSU Council? I believe in the transformational power of education, and as a member of Council, I have the opportunity to help shape the future of our university. The platform allows me to collaborate with fellow students, bring innovative ideas to fruition, and actively contribute to the betterment of all AU undergraduate students.
With a genuine desire to serve our student community through effective communication, collaboration, and dedication, I aim to create positive change and ensure that the voices of AU students are heard and valued.
I am very excited to be part of this vibrant AU community and to represent you on AUSU Council. Together, let’s build a future where every AU student’s voice is heard, ideas are valued, and positive change is a collective achievement!
Warm regards,
Aiza Nazarmatova
