The current AUSU budget draft has allocated $2,000 for the development of a 2SLGBTQIA+ Award pilot, with one (1) award of $1000 to be distributed in the Fall and Spring award cycles - (GL #5660 “Other Awards and Bursaries”)
AUSU’s awards and bursaries strive to reflect the entire student population and offer financial aid that addresses the diversity of the AU community. 2SLGBTQIA+ Awards recognize the exceptional challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ students as they pursue formal education.
Eligibility Criteria:
By submitting this award application, you confirm that you are 2SLGBTQIA+. Applicants must also have completed at least six (6) AU credits, be enrolled in any undergraduate faculty (FHSS, FB, FHD, FST, or Open Studies), and include a minimum 250-word personal statement.
Award Distribution:
One (1) award of $1,000 each is available per major awards cycle. Members may only be selected as recipients of a 2SLGBTQIA+ Award once.
The award will be distributed by direct deposit in Canadian funds. Recipient must provide necessary banking information in order to receive the award. Winners will be required to complete a release form, including SIN.

Academic Achievement Scholarship Application
Academic Achievement Scholarships reward excellence in scholarship by Athabasca University students. Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants need not be full-time or admitted to a program, but must be AUSU members at the application deadline. If you are currently enrolled in an open AU undergraduate course, you are an AUSU member. Membership begins on the start date of your course.
Students must have completed at least 30 undergraduate credits and have a minimum GPA of 3.85 at AU by the applicable deadline to be considered for this scholarship. Challenge and transfer credits are excluded.
Applicants are required to submit a copy of their transcript to be eligible. The applicants with the highest GPA over the last 30 credits will be selected as the recipients of this award. The number of A+ grades (tallying A+ grades in 6-credit courses as two) will be used to break ties, followed by the number of AU credits completed, followed by the number of A grades (also tallying A grades in 6 credit courses as two). Members may only receive this award once.

Balanced Student Award Application

New Student Bursary Application
The New Student Bursary is intended to aid new members in financial need who have taken less than six (6) at AU. AUSU’s awards and bursaries program is intended to reflect the entire student population and collectively offer awards and bursaries that encompass the openness of AU's mission. AUSU has recognized an expressed need from the membership for more diverse financial assistance for new students who are just starting their academic path at AU. This bursary was developed to address that need.

Why do we ask for this?
We ask for a transcript to determine if you are eligible for an AUSU bursary or award. Don't worry, this document is kept private and once your eligibility has been verified it is not used in deliberations except for awards where GPA is a key factor. AUSU bursaries are based on need, not academic performance. Awards may have minimum grade requirement.

Income Tax* Canada Revenue Agency's Option "C" printout (or "Statement of Income") for the year prior to application (NOT a Notice of Assessment).
Why do we ask for this?
We request tax information to determine your income for the year previous to your request for funding and we use standardized documents to ensure all members are assessed equally. The Option C printout from the Canada Revenue Agency includes a brief summary of your income information, and some extra
information such as your marital status, whether you have claimed any spousal deductions, and whether you filed education benefits. We will not process your application without this form and do not accept a Revenue Canada Notice of Assessment.

Student Loans* Submit a scan or screenshot showing the details of your student loan funding for the current term (such as a "Notice of Assessment" or "Funding Summary"). This file must clearly show your name and the total amount of your funding.
Other Income* Scan and upload your EI or Social Assistance Statement for the month of or prior to application. This file must clearly show your name and the total amount of your funding.
Letters of Reference* Submit a minimum of two reference letters, one of which may be of a personal nature (i.e., from a friend or family member). Make note, the letters MUST CONTAIN THE SIGNATURE of the letter's author.
Letter of Reference* Submit at least one reference letter from a non-family member supporting this application.
